Good Times Gone

I was a patron in the 1990' s and beyond, the ba has lost all of its real gay presence. Gay people have been pushed aside to make room for the straight crowd. So much about the bar has changed. When in the city, I stay away from the 90's.

Okay place, but more cons than pros...

The Gay 90's name should be changed and the gay part dropped. The bar patrons include many different walks of life and there are as many gay folk here as there are straight, but the owners still remain gay and the theme of the bar still remains...complete with a full scale Drag Show 5-6 nights a week. This show is actually pretty enterttainign and very well done. The quality of the Drag Queens is above par and they are not the ones who are post-op. To me, those are no longer queens, those are trannies. Haha. But the venue offers two levels of dancing and fun with a main dance floor with a foam party, a hip-hop dance floor, an 80's retro dance floor and the drag show with bars intermixed throughout the place. Drinks are decent as with any gay bar in the cities... well above any breeder bar... drinks are good quality at a decent price at the 90's. The thing that always gets me that after 40 years, the carpet has consumed more drinks than the patrons and has become almost like silly putty. You stick to it throughout the whole night... ugh. =(

Gay 90's?

I was so disappointed last night. I have been to the 90's twice now, both Foam parties. The first time I went to the club back in February I was clearly fooled by the allure of the cute shirtless guys everywhere. I actually had some fun. I have been reading reviews of this club and I could not agree more. I did not get to know the Gay 90's of the past, but it's future looks dim as far as their Gay clientele...I know they lost me. All I saw last night was straight couples or dudes who appeared gay, would dance with me, and then say "...just so you know...I am straight." Haha, laughable. However, I must say that my two girlfriends had a wonderful time due to the fact that the irresistably hot dancers at the club who appear gay! were all over them and danced only on women...now keep in mind; these were men wearing nothing but spankies at a gay bar...but dancing on women leaving the rest of us with our tongues hanging out...there is no longer anything "Gay" about the "Gay 90's" I was very disappointed...could be a great bar.

Large property with different themed bars inside

Friendly bartender in the 80's bar upstairs. Good drink prices. Pretty crowded on Friday night. It was ok. I liked the bar that had a bear bar feel to it, but it was dead (all night). Might go back, on a bet....
