First and Last Time
Rude bouncers, rude managers, rude staff. No wonder it was dead on a busy night. Gays won't stand for the treatment I experienced from a place that is supposed to be a welcoming sanctuary. Wish I would've read the reviews before going. It certainly would've helped me to know ahead of time what to expect. Enjoy my $5 cover cuz it the last from me and if others are smart they'll avoid this dump. Wish I could give zero stars.
This place is now THE BEST Gay Bar in Minnesota
If you haven't been to The Gay 90's for a while, you're missing out. Three of the bars have been remodeled (Happy Hour, Men's Room, Retro), with more renovations coming. There are new bathrooms on the 1st floor. They throw foam parties in the Dance Annex. They introduced a new menu and offer late-night bar food on weekends. There's an Eggs n' Drag Brunch every Sunday which you can bring the kids to. They have Kinky Fridays with kink demonstrations, a Girls Dance Party night, TransExotica events, and still have the best Drag Show in Minnesota. And the drinks are still cheap and STRONG.
Was once cool
It used to be awesome many years ago but now they have let it get run down, people are rude and it is just awful. I would recommend the Saloon or maybe even one of the many other bars. It just isn't as cool as it once was. I feel bad because the drag show used to be just awesome but everything else has just detracted from it.
What an f'ing dump
3 words: dank, dirty, and straight. Seems like the suburban kids like to come here for bachelorette parties and to watch the "freak show". Plus, frankly I don't feel safe in this neighborhood (and I'm from Jersey). The staff is rude (again, Jersey here) the place feels like it needs a power washer taken to every surface (yep, Jersey) and the dance music STINKS. A cover charge for this place? Why bother? Give it to one of the many vagrants nearby.
