Transgender Voices Festival: Song, Story, Justice, and Community

Join One Voice Mixed Chorus for a Transgender Voices Festival April 13 & 14, 2018 in St. Paul, MN! REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! www.onevoicemn.org/transvoices In partnership with the Macalester College Music Department, the event offers opportunities for transgender and gender nonconforming and non-binary singers to explore their voices and identities, grow as artists, and learn tools for voice care. And for non-singers, there will be opportunities to explore voice in other ways like storytelling and poetry. Workshop tracks are also planned for voice/music teachers and community choir directors to learn about transgender voices and receive tools to support singers in the classroom and beyond. On Friday morning there will be a special trans and gender nonconforming youth choir program (ages 14-20). This event is made possible through funding from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, as part of its Knight Arts Challenge, and by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
