Not The Friendliest Staff
My partner and I visit Minneapolis a few times per year and pretty much each trip includes one or two visits to the Eagle. This last visit (just prior to the MLB All-Star game) we went there twice and it seemed business was down. If our visit was any indication, it could be a result of what has become a less than friendly staff. When we arrived Saturday night, there was no door man near the front door so we continued to walk into the bar. A few steps inside someone indignantly yelled that he needed to see our ID. He was sitting at the front corner of the bar with his girlfriend and a few people standing around him. First, there was no need for him to be rude about it, and second, he should get off his butt and be near the front door paying attention to the patrons and not his girlfriend. The bartender at the main bar was friendly that night. However, the video room bartender was just an order taker and acted like he had better places to be. Hopefully this visit was an anomaly.
was at a bar visit sponsored by the Defenders july 5 /13
While I was attending the Dignity Conference,The Defenders a leather/levi group Dignity's outreach to the leather GLBT community held a open bar night there. I hadn't been there for over ten years, the guys were friendly, although it doesn't enforce a leather code.Again it was a hot night but it was air conditioned.
gay Bar
The best gay bar in the Twin Cities of Minnesota
good drinks but bad ambiance
If you're straight, don't get upset when someone asks you how you're doing. Go go a straight bar if you're so insecure in a gay bar.
On the flip side, the restrooms are unkempt and one time two guys were making out and fondling.
The only thing s you won't see here are bears or leather...
A huge disappointment!
I travel everywhere, and never seen anything as bad as this!! The staff are rude, the people are clicky into their own high school circle groups, and no one seems to know what "fun" really is. Its a huge waste of time and money. I wouldn't recommend this to travelers or friends.
I Love "Mr. Harry Chest Man" the Bartender
My girlfriend and I stumbled on this bar on a trip here from Wisconsin. These guys treated us just like "family". I only drink top shelf whiskey, but their prices were pretty cheap even for that. It was pretty low key. The other patrons were friendly, interesting & not too shy to talk to strangers. And the women's bathroom was CLEAN (Granted I'm not sure it gets alot of use, but still we like to know these things right?) We'll be back!
More than the average
If you are looking to hang with friends and enjoy yourself. The Eagle/Bolt is where to do it. Unlike other bars, this crowd doesn't judge and you can just have a great time in a very relaxed scene. Leather/Gear night is the 2nd Saturday of each month, Underwear night the first Saturday, and Bear night the 4th Saturday. 3-4-1s is amazingly fun. Beer Bust/Show tunes sundays is always crowded but still a time to enjoy your friends!
Best Happy Hour in town
3-for-1's on Fridays can't be beat. It gets packed and so you need to be okay in tight crowds.
