Monday, August 14 5:00 pm Gather outside the Republican Party Office for a rally then march 2200 East Franklin Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55404 Join us Monday, August 14 at 5:00 pm to stand in solidarity with the heroic anti-racist protestors who were violently attacked by white nationalist terrorists in Charlottesville, Virginia on Saturday. We will gather outside the Minneapolis Republican Party office on Franklin Avenue for a rally then a march to show our solidarity with the anti-racist protesters in Charlottesville and our outrage at the white supremacists from the streets of Charlottesville to the halls of the White House. Join us in the streets to show we are not afraid and we will oppose racist attacks whenever and wherever they happen. On Friday and Saturday, anti-racist protesters opposing a white supremacist ‘Unite the Right’ rally in Charlottesville, VA faced a vicious attack. As protesters gathered near a downtown mall in Charlottesville, a grey car drove at high speed into the crowd of activists, killing at least one and injuring at least 19 others. This sickening crime is part of the rise in white supremacists since the election of Donald Trump. His presidency has emboldened forces like white nationalists, Neo-Nazis, and the KKK. Trump and his cohort’s racist hate speech against immigrants and communities of color has facilitated the rise of hate crimes and violence. The anti-racist protesters in Charlottesville were correct to oppose these forces, and everyone who loves peace, freedom and equality should continue to visibly oppose this racist and reactionary movement.
