A Wider Bridge, the North American LGBTQ organization building connections with Israel and LGBTQ Israelis, is coming to the Twin Cities for the very first time! We'll also meet two of our partners on the ground in Israel, Zehorit Sorek and Daniel Jonas, who are working to build LGBTQ acceptance and community in Israeli orthodox communities.
Beyond secular Tel Aviv, where LGBTQ life is vibrant and accepted, are many other communities that continue to struggle with LGBTQ acceptance. Within Israel’s Jewish Orthodox Communities, many LGBTQ members are ostracized from their congregations, families and friends.
Come and meet Zehorit Sorek and Daniel Jonas, the leaders of Bat Kol and Havruta - חברותא, who are part of the growing voice of those "refuse to choose" between their LGBTQ and religious identities. Together, they're building a future where they can be their full authentic selves - LGBT, Israeli, and observant Jews.
Tea and light snacks will be served.
