The 3rd weekend of Red Eye's New Works 4 Weeks festival bring you this aurally enticing double bill... Read My/Lips Don’t Lie by Theresa Madaus is an investigation into lip sync, drag personae, dance, and hidden desire. Madaus delves into a world of imagined dance where lip sync is choreography, lips are limbs, lip sync is abstract, lip sync is narrative, and lip sync suggests character – characters that consider masculinity, longing, and the deconstruction of real and fake. With performers Megan Mayer and Stephanie Stoumbelis Peripheries is a new multimedia work by Crystal Myslajek and John Marks that delves into the liminal spaces between resonance and dissonance, analog and digital, composition and improvisation. Utilizing piano, voice, projections, found sounds, and installation, the duo ventures out toward blurred perimeters, missing words, and an unraveling of the unobserved.
