ENVISION SPRING 2016
Envision, one of the largest and most glamorous fashion events in the Twin Cities, returns to Orchestra Hall on Saturday, April 9, where a group of Minneapolis’ top designers will showcase their current Spring 2016 collections amid the exciting full-scale production that has become synonymous with Envision. Currently the longest running fashion event in the Twin Cities, this will be the 19th season of Envision, which was previously heralded by the Star Tribune as the “Best Fashion Show.”
This season, Envision will kick off Fashion Week MN, showcasing the work of local designers including: Emily Trevor, Form Over Function, Cliche, Cory Allen, Joeleen Torvick, Jenny Carle, Kjurek, Russell Bourrienne and Hiccup by Handley. Accessory designers include: Aldo, Goldfine Jewelry, Goorin Bros., Mona Williams, Rewind, Stephanie Lake Design, and See Eyewear. Ignite is also pleased to present Amy Shetler as the key stylist, assisted by Paige Frandsen, with hair by Haus Salon and makeup led by Andrea Holton.
French artist and producer Monsieur Adi returns for his third season, to curate the music for the the runway, providing an exciting soundtrack for the show, remixing his own productions with songs selected as inspiration by each of the designers to represent their spring collections. After joining Envision as a co-producer last year, John Mark Hostetler, Arts Editor at Lavender Magazine and local dance choreographer, will host this season’s event, adding some fresh energy to the evening.
Consistent with Envision’s longstanding vision of supporting art and artists, a portion of the event proceeds, the silent auction and $1 of every pre-sale ticket will benefit Public Functionary, an organization that focuses on cultivating creative collaborations and social interaction around art and culture. Public Functionary will curate the VIP room, adding musical guests, including Holidae, Pytch Records and Sarah White.
