QMediaFeast Launch & Same Difference Film Screening***

QMediaFeast is a new online Media Fest. Join us for the Launch Party with a special preview screening of 'Same Difference', a film from Joshua Sweeny & Kyle Wentzel at the Phoenix Theater Saturday, June 20th from 12:00pm until 6pm. The Same Difference Film offers perspectives that highlight the outcomes of two very different learning environments, featuring stories from Justin Aaberg and Graeme Taylor. We will include two screenings of Same Difference on Saturday, June 20th and a focus discussion will follow each. This film will not be screened online, it will only be screening at the venue. Proceeds from the ticket sales, for both screenings, will be split (50%) with the filmmakers, minus any processing fees from Brown Paper Tickets or Credit Card companies. Total Running Time 97 min. Short Film Synopsis: Same Difference is a feature length documentary that presents the lives of two adolescent boys who identify as gay from a young age. Graeme Taylor, now 18 and off to college, grows up and goes to school in a supporting environment that allows him to thrive. Justin Aaberg (1995-2010) unfortunately grows up and goes to a school filled with intolerant backwards policies and scandal. Justin was just one of nine youth that took their lives while attending the Anoka-Hennepin School District between 2009-2011. This resulted in state health officials declaring the school district a suicide contagion, leading to a department of justice investigation.
