Are you stuck creatively or do you just need a clean, well-lighted place to talk about photography? Welcome to Wing’s Photo Workshop. Open to all photo enthusiasts, whatever your experience level, interests, biases or age. Cameras in all formats are welcome.
Topics include: how to get a project started, find subjects, keep going in spite of self-doubt, overcome inhibitions, develop a personal style, edit and exhibit your work.
Day one:
Wing will show photos from his many projects, sharing anecdotes and insights behind the images while addressing the ethical, aesthetic, and cultural issues of interacting with thousands of strangers. Whether your interests are landscapes, human, documentary, or conceptual, this workshop will engage and enrich your understanding of photography. Bring your camera, as you will photograph on the street!
Day two:
Group critique of the photographs taken on day one and whatever you shoot during the week.

Wing Young Huie’s photographs have been exhibited in museums nationally and internationally, and his public installations—Frogtown(1995), Lake Street USA (2000) and The University Avenue Project (2010)—transformed major Twin Cities’ thorough-fares into epic photo galleries, reflecting the everyday lives of thousands of its citizens in the midst of some of the most diverse concentrations of international immigrants in the country.
