Glam Slam - the clothing swap, photo shoot, dress-up party - returns for the spring installment! HOW IT WORKS 1) Bring clothing you no longer want - all sizes, styles, and seasons of men’s and women’s wearable goods welcome - try stuff on, aka “play dress-up!” - step into the photo booth to capture your good looks - let loose, make friends and have fun 2) Leave with new-to-you gear! - bring a bag or two to carry home your swap findings - except for the real gems (which will we store for the next Glam Slam), all the left over gear will be gifted to charity Professional hair stations provided by Salon Ori; makeup by artists Jasmine Seuling & Lindsay Tarutis; photography by Aqua Fox Photography; music by "The DJ" Bob Marino; and fashion styling by Katrina Haugen, Tierney Houdek & MinJo Oehlke. Enjoy a brief reception in the gallery with our latest exhibit "The Lost Art," as your swap goods are sent downstairs to be sorted. But first, choose your favorite pieces to be entered into the “BEST DONATION,” and “MOST OUTRAGEOUS DONATION” contests. Winners will receive gift card prizes from Barbette and Red Stag restaurants. Recycling clothing into a swap saves room in a landfill as well as resources for new garments. Bringing the community together for happenings creates moments where diverse groups of people interact with one another. The gallery began with these intentions on June 9th, 2012, with a grand opening, multimedia event attended by over five hundred people, an official Northern Spark Festival location.
