Doesn't get going until late at night but then it REALLY gets going! Huge dance floor with plenty of young people dancing.,

This is where the younger crowd goes for the most part it's ok...The place gets full of annoying straight girls that spill their drinks on you I had to shoo some away.

My friends and I loved the Saloon because it was close to work, had great drinks at fantastic prices, and was always full of cute guys. There seemed to be a place and a man for everyone, and we loved the fact that food was also served for those late-night munchies. It was certainly quieter on the 21+ nights, but that gave us some variety. The back patio and fireplace area was a god-send on the cold nights if you couldn't find a local boy to warm you up instead.

Definitely my recommendation if you were to check out a gay bar in MSP. The crowd is young, friendly, and hot. The drinks were strong and decently-priced. Stay later and you get some hot shower scene on stage...

I WAS AT THE SALOON OVER PRIDE 2009 AND 5 PEOPLE HAD GHB PUT IN THEIR DRINKS.....2 OF THEM WERE STILL HANGIN ON TO THEIR DRINKS WHEN I HAPPENED.....THE PLACE ISN'T VERY SAFE, I HAVE HEARD MANY HORROR STORIES ABOUT LAX IN SECURITY AND TOO MUCH LAID BACK ATTITUDE. THE LOCALS SEEM TO GET CATERED TO FROM THEIR FAV BARTENDERS. TRUELY NOT A SAFE PLACE TO BE....HIT THE BOLT / EAGLE..MUCH FUNNER CROWD AND THE MEN ARE MUCH HOTTER....NYC OUT

This is probably the best Gay Club in MPLS.. that being said it wouldnt take much to beat it!! Its a staple because its the best we have!! Its a great time to party at and the Tenders are awesome!! Beware.. or dont, of cruisers on the prowl!! I love it but its only a matter of time until something better comes along..

I love this place. It's my "go-to" gay bar. There is a nice mixed crowd (lots of diversity in all aspects of the word). They play great music and there is a variety of places to be. If you meet someone special and want to chat they have a great backroom area that is superbly decorated and is very cozy (especially during our infamous Minnesota winters). For you out-of-towners Minneapolis bars are smoke-free which I especially love. It's definitely a down to earth place. Yes, you'll see some haughty twinks that think they're all that, but no more than anywhere else. The nice thing is that they are balanced with your average guys. I don't know what that one guy was warning about - a friend getting mugged outside. I've never had any problems like that. It is on Hennepin and there are some panhandlers and such there, but it's not dangerous or anything. Definitely come and check this place out. You won't be disappointed. One more thing, supposedly Tues. nights were "Latin Night". I wish they would really market that (see my moniker for my reason why).

Not a bad place, especially if you like young feminine guys. If you're looking for a masculine, regular guy, look elsewhere

I have had the chance to be there, and I loved it.

This is a nice club but they tend to overserve folks regularly. Me being one, take care and have fun and call a taxi before you leave you will need it. They over serve all the time.

The saloon is great, for what I like - crowded, strong drinks, and great music. It's small, but has many different rooms -- a dance floor, video bar (my fav), pool and darts, and a back patio. The staff is super cute and friendly. There is a wide range of people there...depending on the night. Many 18+ers, a good amount of an older crowd, and everything else in between.

Visited the Saloon late one nite and found myself inundated with hot guys out on the dance floor with me. The bar guys were the greatest and seems the staff all helped out as needed. Music got me rockin! And the rest put a smile on my face.

This bar will let any thing happen to the people who go there. I saw someone get mused helping a friend get a safe ride home the other day. The saloon did nothing. I would not suggest going there if you want to have a safe and respected night.

Super friendly staff, strong drinks, fun music, tasty food, I highly recommend this bar. I spent over a week in Minneapolis and made it a point to get to this bar everynight!

One of the best karaoke shows in the Twin Cities
GLBT community. Brent and Ben rock with an collection collection of new and classic karaoke songs across all genres. The banter is fun and
the energy is high. Check it out.

The Saloon has a very mix crowd of youngsters, hipsters and mature party-goers. I went to visit with my partner during his softball tournament on Memorial Weekend. Brad, in the front bar, was oh so cute and attentive. The Saloon has an urbane big city club feel without the attitude. The locals are very nice and friendly. A shout out to Ben if you are reading this.

Was here on May 23rd and the place was busy. Front bartender was more concerned with chatting with friends and getting drinks for them than anything else, so skip him and go to ANY of the other ones that work for their $$. Younger crowd that had some attitude, but worth a visit (a short one) if you're taking a trip here. HUGE bar with lots of space! I heard there was a naked shower show on Sunday, but didn't get there!

Oh my gawd! If you haven't been to the Saloon lately for happy hour, you have to check it out. Wednesday's BANGO with Mother Pearl is a hoot and a half. Great drinks from the entertaining bartenders.

Try places on the other end of the block or the bolt/eagle.

I recently just lived in Minneapolis for one year, and really enjoyed The Saloon while I was living there.
Minneapolis has a huge gay crowd and is very laid back in many ways. The Saloon has a great dance floor, video bar and back bar to talk and relax....basically three bars in one.
It has some great music to dance to, still a little behind the coasts, but that was fine.
Doc is one of the best bartenders in the country, bar-none! He is friendly and remembers anyones drink once he has heard it. The staff is friendly and has some great dancers.
If your visiting the city, it is a must see especially on a Saturday night.

This bar is a true institution in the cities; always the best dance music, friendliest staff, the most diverse crowd around(something for everybody) and has always proudly supported the local gay community. Lot's of weekly theme nights; goth to salsa nights and has the best gay strippers on the weekends. Just added a gigantic enclosed patio to accomodate smokers. A fun safe atmosphere for groups of friends or even if you want to go solo-you will always feel comfortable and welcomed!
So, what do you say?
